The 2024 Brazoria County Fair Mom will be chosen on Friday, October 11, 2024 at a ceremony
honoring all the candidates nominated for this award. Brazoria County Fair Mom is not a "beauty
pageant" nor a “talent contest", but an event to recognize and honor outstanding mothers for their
contributions to their communities, children, and families.
You can nominate your Mom or another deserving Mom by telling us in an essay of 500 words
or less why your candidate should be the 2024 Brazoria County's Mom.
1. The Mom candidate must be a resident of Brazoria County.
2. The Mom candidate may not be a former BCFA Fair Mom title holder.
3. The Mom candidate may not be nominated by themselves.
4. Both the Mom candidate and the nominator must be present the night of the event.
5. Nomination essay will be read by the nominator the night of the contest. Essay cannot be
changed after it has been submitted.
6. Online Entry should include:
• your name, address, and phone number.
• your candidate's name, address, and phone number.
• your relationship to the candidate.
• 500 words or less on “Why My Mom Should Be Brazoria County Fair Mom."
7. The 2024 Brazoria County Fair Mom will be announced Friday, October 11, 2024.
8. The BCFA Fair Mom is required to ride in the Fair Parade on Saturday, October 12, 2024. The
BCFA Mom is also required to attend any other scheduled events set by the Fair Mom
Committee.
9. All participants must comply with the Brazoria County Fair Association General Rules and
Regulations.
10. The decisions of the Fair Mom committee and judges for the contest are final. Any protest
must be filed as stated in the General Rules. Any and all expenses resulting from this grievance
must be paid up front by the person(s) filing the protest.
11. Unsportsmanlike conduct, including, but not limited to inappropriate conversation or
comments on any social network, of any contestants, parents and/or family members will not be
tolerated. Any unsportsmanlike conduct may result in disqualification from competition and/or
withdrawal of titles.
“Kim Kresta Memorial Award”
This special award will be given to the Brazoria County Fair Mom in loving memory of Kim
Kresta, the 2002 Fair Mom, by her family and friends. Kim was a woman who was a prime
example of how to appreciate and live life to the fullest. She was devoted to her husband, Greg,
and three children Clint, Cody, and Kenzie. She was also a hard-working supporter and volunteer
of the Fair Association.
Kim's positive spirit, cheerfulness and big smile will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
