TERMS OF SALE
These Terms of Sale govern the sale of items during the Brazoria County Fair Junior Livestock Auction, Student Art Auction, Commercial Heifer Auction, Ag Mechanics Auction and the Freezer Sale Auction. By participating in any of these auctions, you agree to abide by these Terms of Sale.
Registration:
To participate in the “LIVE” auctions, bidders must register with the General Sales committee and provide accurate personal contact information. A $25 registration fee will be assessed for all buyers who either did not purchase in the previous year’s auction or did not contribute $500 or more in Add-Ons to exhibitors. Buyer’s may register online in advance or in person prior to each auction. Registration is only required one time per year and the buyer will be able to attend all auctions.
Bidding:
All projects sell to the highest bidder. Any disputes or questions regarding bids will be settled by the Auctioneer and his decision will be final. All animals will be sold by the head or pen. Bidders are responsible for their own bids and must ensure they are willing to purchase the project at the winning bid amount.
Payment:
Payment is due in full at the time of sale unless prior approval has been granted by the Brazoria County Fair office. If the buyer is billed for their purchases, payment is due upon receipt of the invoice. Any invoice not paid within 45 days from date of invoice will be subject to a recurring monthly 2.5% interest charge. All payments should be made payable to BCFA. We accept all major credit cards as form of payment. A 3% fee will be added to all credit card transactions.
Disposition & Delivery:
Each lot invoice created during the sale must be signed by the Buyer(s) complete with the disposition selected as listed on the paperwork. All exhibitors must deliver or make arrangements for delivery to within a 50 mile radius of the Brazoria County Fairgrounds within seven (7) days after the close of the fair.
Market Animal Processing:
For processing of steers, swine, lambs and goats, the Buyer is responsible for their choice of processor. If the processor chosen is one which the BCFA has contracted with for load out and pick up on the Saturday after JLA, BCFA will handle animal delivery to the processor. Buyer should contact the processor for processing instructions, payment of processing charges and picking up their processed animal in the time allotted by the processor. Once the animal is delivered to the processor in the buyer’s name, processing becomes the liability of the Buyer. Unless the buyer specifies otherwise, any poultry and/or rabbits must be processed and delivered by the exhibitor.
